Introductory Blog

Hello all! My name is Katherine Phenna, and I usually go by Kat. I've created this blog on the Kalahari Desert for GEOG 1202. A little bit of information about me... I was born in Sheffield, England, and lived there for roughly the first 8 years of my life, before moving to Golden, Colorado where I now live. I enjoy all types of art such as, painting, drawing, photography, needlework, carving, etc. I am so happy to be studying and practicing what I love to do! Besides that I also love live music, reading, hiking, exploring, and traveling. I am a Fine Arts major with an emphasis in Photography.

For my blog this semester I decided to study and share my discoveries about the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa. Africa has always been a place I have dreamed of visiting someday, and hope to travel there in the near future. The reason I selected this location is because I recently watched a BBC nature documentary series on Netflix titled "Africa", and it was absolutely stunning. The episode on the Kalahari Desert particularly interested me, and I'm very excited to learn more about the geography of this fascinating place.
